Overnight lane restriction planned on I-24 near Paducah

A nighttime lane restriction will be in place along a portion of Interstate 24 near Paducah Monday evening.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says eastbound traffic will be reduced to one lane near the end of Buckner Lane Overpass at mile point 5.6.

This is between the US 60 exit 4 interchange and US 45/US 62 exit 7 interchange at Paducah.

Keith Todd with the transportation cabinet says there is a large persistent pothole at the end of the Buckner Lane Overpass that has resisted all previous efforts to patch it.

A contractor will be digging out the existing pavement and pouring new concrete.

Traffic will be moved to the left-hand lane around 7:00 p.m. The lane restriction could be in place for up to 24 hours to allow the concrete to cure.
