Local doctor’s office to close, doctor moving to new office

A local doctor’s office your family may depend on is closing.

As of April 30, Marshall County Family Medical in Benton, Kentucky, will shut down. Dr. John Tveite is moving to a new office in Murray on May 2.

In a news release sent Tuesday, Murray-Calloway County Hospital says Tveite’s new office will be in the Medical Arts Building at 300 South 8th Street, Suite 480 West in Murray. The hospital says the new location will let Tveite better serve his patients.

The hospital says benefits of the new location include:

"– One of the five MMA physicians is available 24 hours per day, seven days per week to meet your needs should you require hospitalization, even if he is out of town.
– Upon discharge, you will be referred back to Dr. Tveite for clinic care.
– He will be linked through electronic patient records with both MMA physicians and Murray Calloway County Hospital. This allows him to follow patient care from his office.
– Murray Calloway County Hospital offers excellent inpatient care, an inpatient facility, and state-of-the-art medical equipment.
– Many medical specialists are located on the hospital campus to meet individual needs."
