Carbondale police investigate second shooting in one week

Carbondale, Illinois police are investigating a shooting that happened overnight Tuesday. Police say it happened on South Illinois Avenue. They aren’t naming the victim but have confirmed that the victim was taken to Memorial Hospital for treatment and is expected to make a full recovery. Police are still looking for the shooter but say, so far, they know the victim and the shooter were acquaintances.

The shooter is described as a black male, 6′ 2" and 170 pounds with short black hair. The shooter is between 20-25 years old.
