Company to build stave mill in Marshall County

More than 40 new jobs are coming to Marshall County.

Governor Matt Bevin announced on Thursday that American Stave Company will build a stave mill in Benton, Kentucky.

The mill will turn white oak into barrels for the whiskey and bourbon industry.

The company bought 48 acres where they will build a $12 million state-of-the-art stave mill.

Site work will begin this spring and construction will start in the fall.

A grand opening is set for July 2017.
