Dog killed in weekend home invasion

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a home invasion.

Deputies say the home invasion happened just before 10:00 p.m. on Saturday at a home in the Freeman Spur area near the Franklin-Williamson County line.

Two masked suspect forced their way into a home.

One of the suspects hit a woman that was inside a home and forced her at gunpoint to lie face down on the ground with her infant child.

They then left after shooting a killing the owner’s dog.

The woman had minor injuries. The child was not hurt.

Deputies are asking anyone with information to call the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office at (618) 438-8211.
