Lane restriction planned for North Friendship Road in McCracken County
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says a work zone planned for Tuesday and Wednesday will "severely restrict" traffic along part of North Friendship Road in the Lone Oak area of McCracken County.
The work zone will be in place to allow repairs to a washout and extensive erosion control work between Cannon Street and Old Friendship Road, according to KYTC spokesman Keith Todd. He says that’s in the Kimberly Drive and Seneca Lane area between Lone Oak Road and Blandville Road.
Todd says traffic flow will be highly restricted because of the limited space for placement of an excavator that will be used to do the work. He says extended delays are likely. He says drivers are strongly urged to take an alternate route between Lone Oak Road and Blandville Road via the eastbound and westbound connector roads at Interstate 24 Exit 7.
Work is expected to start around 8 a.m. and be completed by about 3 p.m. each day, Todd says.
If you drive through the work zone, Todd says you should be alert for one-lane traffic with alternating flow controlled by flaggers.
