Cape Girardeau and Jackson vote yes on vehicle tax, no on use tax

Missouri voters decided city and county elections Tuesday, and we have results of two key races in Cape Girardeau and Jackson. 

People in both cities voted on whether to extend the current tax on certain vehicles and on whether to implement a use tax.

In Cape Girardeau, voters had to choose yes or no on the vehicle tax. They voted in favor of that tax, with 56 percent yes to 44 percent no. 

However, Cape voters said "no" to the use tax, 57 percent to 43 percent. 

In Jackson, folks voted in favor of the vehicle tax, with 59 percent yes to 41 percent no. They voted against the use tax, with a vote of 55 percent no to 45 percent yes.
