Verso announces closure of Wickliffe, KY paper mill

Verso has announced that it is closing its Wickliffe, Kentucky paper mill.

The company says it had been trying to find a buyer for the mill, but was unsuccessful.

In November 2015, the company idled the mill and furloughed approximately 310 employees.

Furloughed employees and those still working at the mill were told that their last day of employment with Verso is expected to be June 4.

Employees will be receiving a severance allowance.

The entire mill is expected to be shutdown by July 1.
