Ramp closure planned at I-24/Purchase Parkway interchange in Calvert City

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet say a temporary ramp closure is planned so a contractor can install a lane restriction at the Interstate 24/Julian Carroll-Purchase Parkway Interchange at Calvert City on Friday.

KYTC says southbound traffic will be restricted to one lane on the parkway within the interchange.  To facilitate installation of concrete barricades for this lane restriction, KYTC spokesman Keith Todd says the contractor will temporarily close the eastbound I-24 exit ramp to the southbound lanes of Purchase Parkway starting at 8:30 a.m. on Friday.

Todd says the ramp should be reopened to traffic by about 3 p.m., Friday.

All southbound traffic on the Purchase Parkway will be moved to the left-hand or passing lane in the work zone.

The work zone includes an extended area at the existing I-24 Exit 25 and Purchase Parkway Exit 52 interchange.

It includes a 55 mile per hour speed limit with an enhanced law enforcement presence and double fines.
