U.S. representative candidates meet in Kentucky Farm Bureau forum

Five of the six candidates running for Kentucky’s first congressional district met Friday night to discuss the issues and try to win your vote.

Republicans Jason Batts, Miles Caughey Jr., James Comer and Mike Pape, along with Democrats Samuel Gaskins and Tom Osborne, are vying for U.S. Rep. Ed Whitfield’s seat. In September of 2015, Whitfield announced he would not to run for reelection after serving for 20 years.

The Kentucky Farm Bureau hosted the Measure The Candidates forum at Murray State University’s Curris Center Friday night. All the candidates, with the exception of Democrat Tom Osborne, attended this event.

We’ve included a video of each candidates full opening statement with this article.
