Local business to rebuild on site of fire

A business destroyed by a fire will rebuild in downtown Murray.

Peel & Holland Insurance will be constructing a new building at 5th and Maple Streets.

The site is where the company was located before a fire destroyed their building in July 2014. Five buildings were lost in the fire.

Since the fire, the company has been working in the Northpointe Office complex on Highway 121 North.

The president of Peel & Holland, Roy Riley, says the company has bought all five properties affected by the fire.

The new building will be two stories high and have more than 6,000 square feet.

Along with having business space for Peel & Holland, the new building will have 2,5000 square feet of office space for lease.

Construction on the new building will begin this summer.
