Time running out for Kentucky budget

Time is running out for Kentucky lawmaker to agree on a two-year spending plan.

Today is the last scheduled day of this year’s general assembly.

Governor Matt Bevin is asking lawmakers to stay in town until Friday to get a budget passed.

House speaker Greg Stumbo says he agrees with Bevin’s plea to stay.

If a budget is not passed by midnight Friday, Governor Bevin would be forced to call a special session.
