SIU hosts listening session to discuss racism

Your student’s voice on racism and discrimination. SIU Carbondale held its first listening session with students tonight to talk about those issues on campus.

Countless students shared experiences on campus of derogatory comments and racial slurs made by fellow students and faculty on campus.

The session comes shortly after a SIU student posted a video — talking about racism she experienced. There was a protest on campus Tuesday.

The university is now investigating.
