Man dies after shooting at Paducah club

SATURDAY NIGHT UPDATE:  Johnson died Saturday evening from his injuries.  Police upgraded Powell’s charge to murder.

ORIGINAL STORY:  Two men were arrested and investigators are looking for a third in connection with a shooting early this morning outside a Paducah club.
 
Paducah police were called to The Brickhouse at 901 Boyd St around 12:45am.  They found Gary Johnson, 46, lying on the ground with a gunshot wound.  Johnson is in critical condition.
 
Witnesses told police several people were shooting firearms and Johnson was struck during the gunfire. Police say he was not involved in the shootings.  Police arrested Denzel Powell, 23, on an unrelated warrant charging him with first-degree wanton endangerment.

During an interview, Powell admitted having fired a handgun at two men who he said were shooting at him.  Police later arrested Christopher Smith, 34, on a charge of first-degree wanton endangerment. 

Tracell Nunn, 27, has not been located.  Police continue to investigate.
