Dr. Ted Jefferson attorney preparing for trial

In less than a month, the case against Dr. Ted Jefferson goes to trial.

His lawyer, Bard Brian, was in court on Tuesday for a pretrial hearing.

He says the Commonwealth filed some pretrial motions that he thinks are ridiculous.

"It has a whole bunch of things listed in there that are obviously crafted to try to protect some of the administrators who I’ve already subpoenaed to testify and shield them from certain questions," says Brian.

Jefferson is accused of making gun-related remarks at Baptist Health Paducah.

Another pretrial hearing is scheduled for May 3. Trial starts May 13.
