Benton, KY man charged with stealing two chairs from Dollar General

A Benton, Kentucky man was arrested and charged with stealing chairs from a Dollar General.

A deputy with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office was called to the Dollar General Store on US 68 E Tuesday on reports of a theft.

The deputy was shown video of a man taking two chairs that were not paid for.

Later in the day, the deputy got a call about the same suspect attempting to break into a home on McNeely Road.

When the deputy talked with the suspect, he found two stolen chairs in the back of his vehicle.

The suspect admitted to stealing the chairs, but not to the burglary.

The deputy arrested 25-year-old Derek Baier of Benton, Kentucky. He was charged with receiving stolen property under $33 and public intoxication controlled substance.
