Concord Elementary teacher honored by Challenger Learning Center
Concord Elementary School fourth grade science and reading teacher Ramona Patton has been named the 2015-2016 Challenger Learning Center Outstanding Educator.
Patton was presented the honor in a surprise presentation during a school-wide program Thursday.
Staff members from the Challenger Center recognized Patton as the center’s tenth outstanding educator, and Patton received a framed certificate and a $100 gift certificate for science and math supplies.
Concord Elementary will also get a free mission for the 2016-2017 school year to the center as part of the award.
Concord assistant principal Gena Karnes nominated Patton for the award.
“She is creative and follows through with amazing lessons to engage her students,” Karnes said. “She also challenges herself and her students to be the best they can be”.
The certificate for science and math supplies was donated by Travis School Equipment in Draffenville.
