Crash kills motorcyclist in Marion, Ill.

A motorcyclist was killed in a wreck involving a car Friday afternoon, according to Marion, Illinois, police. 

Police responded to the wreck at 2:40 p.m. Friday involving a car and a motorcycle. Officers say the driver was thrown from the motorcycle, and was later pronounced dead at Heartland Regional Medical Center.  

Police say the names of the motorcyclist and the driver of the car are not being released at this time. The police department also declined to provide any details about where the wreck happened.
