Construction picking up in Paducah

Prepare to see more orange barrels around Paducah.

Crews are working away on the Olivet Church Road project.

A city spokesperson says the contractor is focusing on making a new stretch of the road behind the Kentucky Oaks Mall.

The road will cut across a field and tie into Olivet Church Road.

They still need to widen Olivet Church Road.

Workers hope to have the whole project done in October.

Over in a different part of Paducah, crews are back on Kentucky Avenue to make your drive smoother.

They are diamond grinding which smooths out the surface of the road.

This is the last phase of the project, but it will force drivers to one lane traffic from time to time. ?
