SIU students plant trees for Earth Day

Students at Southern Illinois University Carbondale honored Earth Day by planting trees.

The 10 new trees are located north of Pulliam Clock Tower.

Senior Ashley Bergman says her personal connection to the school made her want to volunteer.

"I think it brings you closer to the university. I put like an hour and a half in and I planted a tree and now I’m part of the university," said Bergman.

SIU has been named a Tree Campus USA due to the number of trees planted over the years.
