ISP investigating fatal crash involving a pedestrian

Illinois State Police are investigating a fatal crash involving a pedestrian and a semi.

The crash happened on Old Illinois Route 13 just east of Illinois Route 148 in Williamson County around 1:18 a.m.

Deputies say a 43-year-old man from Marion, Illinois, was walking in the middle of the roadway. He was wearing dark clothing.

The semi was heading eastbound on Old Illinois Route 13 when it hit the pedestrian, killing him.

The driver of the semi was not injured and has not been charged.

The name of the pedestrian is being withheld pending family notification.
