Suspect arrested in Carbondale auto burglary

A man suspected in an auto burglary that happened this week in Carbondale has been arrested, police say.

An auto burglary in the 400 block of West Freeman Street was reported to Carbondale police on Monday. Property was stolen from the vehicle, which police say was unlocked, sometime between 1 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Monday.

Police say they identified 18-year-old Shavez Lindsey as a suspect in the burglary, and he was found and arrested without incident in the 1200 block of East Main Street.

Lindsey was charged with possession of stolen property and jailed at the Jackson County Jail.
