Teen severely injured in ATV wreck

UPDATE: Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital says a teenage Graves County boy who was flown there Thursday after an ATV wreck remains there Friday.

The hospital says 14-year-old Dylan Sanchez of Mayfield is in critical but stable condition.


A teenage boy was injured in an ATV wreck in Graves County Thursday afternoon, the local sheriff’s office says. 

The Graves County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were dispatched around 4:30 p.m. on Thursday for an ATV wreck in the 300 block of Central Road.

Deputies say 14-year-old Dylan Sanchez of Mayfield was riding an ATV southbound on the roadway when, according to witnesses, the ATV suddenly left the roadway, hit an embankment, and then hit a metal pole.

Sanchez was ejected, and deputies say he suffered a severe head injury. He was flown to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital.

The Graves County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Mayfield/Graves County EMS and the Sedalia Fire Department.
