Manhunt continues for Dracy Pendleton

The day after initiating a manhunt, police say they still have not found Dracy Pendleton.

He’s accused of shooting a Mahomet police officer, and charged with attempted murder.

On Monday, police set up a command center and established a perimeter within the Shawnee National Forest.

Police are continuing to follow up leads. They still believe Pendleton is armed and dangerous, which is why people who live here say they’re much more uneasy knowing he is in their hometown.

"They said they were going door to door and asking people not to come out of their houses and I thought maybe it is a little more serious than before," said local business owner and neighbor Nancy Roper.

The rain hasn’t stopped police from continuing their search, but it does cause some issues. Police say they will be able to give us more of an update Tuesday afternoon.

Pendleton may be driving a white 2006 GMC truck with Illinois registration 165533B.

If you see anything suspicious call police at 911.
