Another Kentucky tornado event reported in Trigg County

The Kentucky State Police says troopers are on the scene of another tornado event in western Kentucky Tuesday.

Troopers say they observed a tornado on the ground in the eastern part of Trigg County around 7:16 p.m. near the Trigg County, Christian County line.

This was the second event in west Kentucky Tuesday, after a tornado struck near Mayfield and other west Kentucky counties were affected earlier in the afternoon.

There is structural damage to some barns in the area of Kentucky 126 north of Kentucky 129, troopers say, but preliminary reports show no homes have been damaged.

Troopers say no injuries have been reported from the Trigg County tornado at this time.

The number of injured from the Mayfield area event has increased from eight to 10. Ten people were taken to Jackson Purchase Medical Center with “non-life threatening” injuries.

At least one tornado also hit in Pope County, Illinois, but there are no reports of injuries or damage.
