Tracell Nunn is in a Louisville, Kentucky jail this morning. Police say he shot at an officer during a traffic stop overnight. Nunn is wanted in Paducah in connection to the death of Gary Johnson.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is asking Carlie Trent’s uncle to turn himself in. Gary Simpson and his 9-year-old niece have been missing for over a week. They were last spotted at a Wal-Mart on the Tennessee-Arkansas border.
Some small victories in Alberta, Canada. Firefighters battling a massive blaze say the weather is cooperating. This fire has destroyed more than 2,400 homes in less than a week.
A closure information meeting for employees of the Remington plant in Mayfield is happening today. It begins at 3:30 p.m. in the West Kentucky Rural Electric in the community room. That’s on West Broadway Street in Mayfield. If you can’t make it, there’s another meeting tomorrow at Noon.
House Speaker Paul Ryan says he will step down as chair of the Republican National Convention. That’s if Donald Trump wants him to. Ryan and Trump have been trying to repair a rough relationship for days after Ryan said he could not support Trump’s candidacy just yet.
Hillary Clinton is bringing her presidential campaign to Kentucky. She is set to speak at Louisville’s sluggers field tonight at 6:30 p.m. That’s ahead of Kentucky’s primary one week from today.
