Man charged with burglary after arrested for parole violation
A man who police say walked away from a halfway house was arrested Wednesday afternoon on a parole violation warrant. Officers say he was connected to a burglary while at the police station.
He was arrested after officers saw him walking near 25th and Ohio streets.
Paducah police say Michael Crawford was arrested on a warrant charging him with parole violation and brought to the police department. An officer was investigating a break-in reported Tuesday at a home in the 2000 block of Guthrie Avenue, and Crawford became a suspect in that investigation.
Police say someone broke into that home through a window and stole things from the home. They say the burglar left his clothes in the house and took clothing belonging to the homeowner.
Officers say Crawford was wearing a pair of shoes taken in the burglary and had other items taken as well.
Crawford was charged with second degree burglary and booked him into the McCracken County Regional Jail.
