Crash at Paducah International Raceway sends man to hospital

McCracken County deputies are investigating a crash at Paducah International Raceway that sent a man to the hospital.

Deputies says Jason Wallace, 38, of Paducah, was driving a yellow colored dirt track racecar on the racetrack when it hit track worker, David McCracken, 54, of Benton.  McCracken suffered serious physical injuries and was taken to Lourdes Hospital before being airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Wallace was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and assault.

McCracken underwent surgery to repair a shattered broken leg.
