Cunningham pleads not guilty in McCracken County
An arraignment continued Thursday in McCracken County for a man facing charges including arson, burglary and cruelty to animals.
The judge entered a not guilty plea on all the felony charges Joseph Cunningham faces. The charges include second degree arson, first degree burglary, convicted felon in possession of a firearm, second degree cruelty to animals, and theft by unlawful taking under $500.
He was also arraigned earlier this week in Marshall County on charges of murder, first degree robbery, convicted felon in possession of a firearm, and tampering with physical evidence. In that case, he’s accused of killing 47-year-old Gary Lambert. Cunningham is accused of shooting Lambert in the head and dumping the body near an abandoned home in Possum Trot.
In McCracken County on Thursday, Cunningham also faced a separate misdemeanor shoplifting charge. He pleaded not guilty until he speaks with his attorney.
Cunningham’s next McCracken County court date is June 2.
