Section of Paducah’s Olivet Church Road closing to through traffic

The city of Paducah says a section of Paducah’s Olivet Church Road is closing to through traffic starting next week.

The city says the section of Olivet Church Road between Kindred Avenue and James Sanders Boulevard will close to through traffic starting Tuesday, May 31, and it’s expected to stay closed through July. Spokeswoman Pam Spencer says people who live in that area and patrons of businesses in that area still will be able to get to homes and businesses.

Spencer says drivers are encouraged to find alternate routes because this section of the Olivet Church Road project involves the widening of the road to three lanes and adding drainage improvements and sidewalks.
