Free car seat safety check being held this weekend

A free car seat safety check will be held this Saturday.

Illinois State Police, the Williamson’s County Sheriff’s Department, West City Police Department, and Perry County Health Department are teaming up to hold the car safety check at Rend Lake Visitor’s Center on June 4.

Certified child safety technicians will be at the center to check car seats for proper installation, and give information on how to choose the correct car seats and install them.

The visitor center is located at 11987 Rend City Road in Benton, Illinois. The event runs from 9:00  a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
