Deck collapse injures 16, including several expectant mothers

16 people were treated for injuries after a deck collapse Friday night in Sikeston, Missouri.

Sikeston Department of Public Safety was called to a home in the 100 block of North Ridge Road.  DPS says more than 20 people were on an outside deck congratulating an expectant mother when the support gave way.  Several people fell about 15 feet from the deck.  DPS is looking into the cause of the deck collapse.

DPS says 16 people had injuries, including broken bones, cuts and back problems.  Two or three women who fell were expectant mothers, but DPS says the women are expected to recover.
