Moped and car crash in McCracken County, one injured

A car and a moped were involved in a crash in McCracken County.

McCracken County deputies were dispatched to a crash on Benton Road near the intersection with Meacham lane around 12:20 p.m.

Deputies say 31-year-old Dennis Smith of Paducah was riding a moped west on Benton Road when he slowed down to make a left turn on Meacham lane.

At that time, 80-year-old Ruby Price of Paducah was also traveling west on Benton Road. She told deputies she saw the moped moving slowly and she began to overtake the moped in the oncoming lane.

As she did, the moped turned left and the two crashed.

Smith had non-incapacitating injuries and was taken to a local hospital. Prince was not injured.
