Only minor injuries reported in four vehicle crash

There were only reports of minor injuries in a four vehicle crash that happened Monday afternoon.

The Graves County Sheriff’s Department says the crash happened around 1:50 p.m. near the intersection of KY 131 and the Purchase Parkway.

Deputies say 71-year-old Michael Palmer of Kirksey was stopped on KY 131 northbound waiting to turn left onto the Purchase Parkway southbound on-ramp.

Behind him was 27-year-old Christopher Fowler of Wingo.

Deputies say as the two vehicles were waiting to turn left, a third vehicle being driven by 22-year-old Tristan Dunaway of Boaz hit the back of Fowler’s vehicle.

Dunaway’s vehicle ran underneath Fowler’s vehicle causing Fowler’s vehicle to flip over onto its roof. Fowler’s vehicle was pushed into Palmer’s vehicle.

After hitting Fowler’s vehicle, Dunaway’s vehicle spun into the southbound lane of KY 131 and hit a vehicle being driven by 22-year-old Chelsea Martin of Paducah.

Dunaway told deputies that the brakes failed on her vehicle.

Six people were taken to local hospitals, including a one-year-old baby. All those injured only had minor injuries.

Deputies say everyone in the crash was wearing their seatbelt and the baby was in a child safety seat.
