Overnight crash sends one person to the hospital

A small animal running out into the road caused a crash between two vehicles Tuesday night.

McCracken County Sheriff deputies say the crash happened on Clarkline Road around 11:30 p.m.

Deputies say 17-year-old Peyton Freeman of Paducah was driving eastbound following another vehicle being driven by 35-year-old Lesley Lyle of Joppa, Illinois.

When Lyle started to make a left turn into a driveway, a small animal ran out into the road.

That small animal caused Freeman to swerve into the westbound lane and hit the front, left side of Lyle’s vehicle.

Lyle’s vehicle stopped partially in the yard and westbound lane.

Freeman’s vehicle stopped at the bottom of a small hill.

Lyle was taken to a local hospital with non-incapacitating injuries.
