Police investigating robbery at Poplar Bluff Pizza Hut

Poplar Bluff police are investigating an armed robbery that happened outside the Pizza Hut on Westwood Boulevard just before 11:00 p.m. Tuesday.

A Pizza Hut employee said she was walking next door to Southern Bank with bank bags to make a nightly deposit when a man wearing dark clothing stepped out from behind a shed at the back of the restaurant.

The man pointed what appeared to be a gun at the employee and order her to drop the bank bags.

She dropped the bags and the man picked them up and ran away on foot.

Police say the bags contained more than $1,500.

An investigation is ongoing.
