Police investigating crash involving semi in Calvert City

Police are investigating a crash in Calvert City that involved a semi and at least three vehicles.

The crash happened at the intersection of Highway 62 and the Purchase Parkway.

According to a volunteer firefighter on the scene, the driver of the semi ran a red light.

A hazmat crew is on the scene because of leaking diesel fuel.

Keith Todd with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says two people have been taken to local hospitals.

Westbound Highway 62 is blocked due to the crash. Police are asking people to avoid the area if possible.
