Suspect in Illinois bank robbery injured in wreck

A man suspected in an Illinois bank robbery led law enforcement through multiple counties in Illinois and Kentucky Tuesday before he crashed his vehicle, the Webster County, Kentucky, Sheriff’s Office says. 

The bank robbery happened in Shawneetown, Illinois, and the sheriff’s office says the vehicle chase went through Gallatin County, Illinois, then into Kentucky. The chase went through Morganfield in Union County and into Webster County. 

Deputies say the chase ended when the man, who was headed north on Highway 41A, had a rollover wreck. He was flown to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. 

Investigators believe the man was headed to Henderson, Kentucky, and that he lives there.

The man’s name and his condition have not been released. We will bring you more information as details emerge.
