Crews are searching for a toddler dragged into water by an alligator in Florida

Police in Orlando say a family of five from Nebraska are living a real-life nightmare. Their 2-year-old son was dragged into waters by an alligator near Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa late Tuesday night. Early Wednesday morning, crews were still searching for that boy and the alligator.

Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings said the dad tried to rescue the child but was unsuccessful.

Demings said more than 50 law enforcement officials started searching for the boy immediately after they received the call. Those crews vowed to continued looking until they found the boy.

Demings says there have been no other recent reports of similar alligator attacks at the lake.
