Man dies in crash during storm in Graves County

The Graves County Sheriff’s Office says a man has died Wednesday after strong winds blew a tree over on top of the truck he was driving.

Deputies responded, during what they describe as an intense thunderstorm, around 1:39 p.m. Wednesday to the 800 block of State Route 534. They say a pickup truck had hit a tree head on.

A witness on the scene reportedly told deputies he saw the truck heading north along 534 when the wind blew a tree over. The tree landed onto the cab of the truck, crushing it. The truck continued forward and hit another tree.

Deputies say the driver, 56-year-old David Fisk of Kirksey, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Graves County Coroner’s Office.

In addition to the sheriff’s office, the Kentucky State Police, the Mayfield Fire Department, the Clear Springs Fire Department, and the Symsonia Fire Department all responded to the wreck.
