Death of male body found in Paducah under investigation

Paducah police are investigating after a body was found in a wooded area near Legion Drive.

Police say a man called to report the body around 8:15 p.m. Wednesday. He said told them he was searching the wooded area looking for a drone he’d lost when he came upon the body.

Once at the scene, officers say they found the body of what appeared to be a white male in a "severe state of decomposition." A deputy coroner also responded to the scene.

Because of the condition the body was in, police say he has not yet been identified and a cause of death has not been determined.

An autopsy will be performed at the medical examiner’s office in Louisville on Friday morning.
