Brussels mall closed because of bomb threat

A mall in the center of Brussels closed Tuesday morning when a man called police and said he was wearing an explosive belt.

Police and bomb squad members clocked off the entrances and exits to the City2 shopping mall around 5:30 a.m. local time there. Judicial sources reported to NBC that the explosive belt was fake.

A local news site reports that the situation is under control but that security services remain "extremely vigilant."
