Campus police investigating multiple car thefts on Murray State University campus

The Murray State Police Department is investigating multiple car thefts on campus.

Officers say multiple vehicles have been stolen and then later crashed. Each vehicle was left unlocked and the keys were left inside.

Officers have these suggestions to help protect others from becoming victims:

  • Always roll up the windows, lock your car. and take the keys.?
  • Never leave your car running or the keys in the ignition when you’re away from it even for "just a minute."
  • Control your keys. Never leave an identification tag on your key ring. If your keys are lost or stolen, it could help a thief locate your car and burglarize your home.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Murray State Police Department at (270) 809-2222.
