National Frozen Food Corp. recalls several brands of frozen vegetables

The National Frozen Food Corp. recalled several brands of frozen peas and mixed vegetables. The threat is Listeria monocytogenes. Product tests at the National Frozen Food Corp. showed the potential contamination.

Brands included in the recall include Bountiful Harvest, First Street, Great Value, Live Smart, Market Pantry and Sprout. The items are dated either September 2 or June 2.

National Frozen Food also makes Green Cuisine. Meals including pesto pasta salad with arugula is also under recall for potential Listeria contamination. Affected Green Cuisine meals were sold in Southern California, Nevada and Arizona Whole Foods Market locations between June 15-16.

There have been no reports of illness connected to this recall. Listeria primary affects the elderly, children and pregnant women. Symptoms include fever, muscle aches, nausea and diarrhea. Infections spread into areas of the gastrointestinal tract and nervous system.
