Lane and load width restrictions on US 60 Cumberland River Bridge

UPDATE: KYTC spokesman Keith Todd says the inspection is complete. He says no additional lane or width restrictions were needed, and the bridge will be open to normal traffic flow on Thursday.

There will be lane and load width restrictions on the US 60 Cumberland River Bridge at Smithland starting Wednesday.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet needs the restrictions to conduct an inspection of the bridge.

The restrictions will be in place from 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. for about two days.

The 8 feet load width restriction will restrict traffic to vehicles no wider than a pickup truck.

Traffic will be down to one lane and controlled by flaggers.

The Cumberland River Bridge takes US 60 over the Cumberland River near Smithland.
