Continuing I-24/Purchase Parkway interchange work to impact ramp traffic

Continuing construction at the interchange of the Purchase Parkway and Interstate 24 will impact traffic on the ramps starting Thursday.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says crews need to move material as part of the construction.

To help move the material, flaggers will be out on the Eastbound I-24 to Northbound Purchase Parkway ramp, the Northbound Purchase Parkway to  Westbound I-24 ramp, and Northbound Purchase Parkway to Eastbound I-24 ramp.

The flaggers will be stopping traffic on the ramps to allow trucks to move around the interchange.

It is expected to take about 40 days to move about 200,000 cubic yards of material.

The work is part of the ongoing construction at the intersection to allow I-69 to extended southwards.

I-24 through-traffic will not be impacted.
