Illinois woman crashes into parked truck after falling asleep at the wheel

A woman was taken to the hospital after she crashed into an unoccupied truck.

McCracken County Sheriff’s deputies were called to 4540 Clarks River Road around 4:43 a.m. on reports of a two vehicle crash.

Deputies say 21-year-old Alexis Gish of Brookport, Illinois was traveling west on the road when she fell asleep, ran off the right shoulder of the road, and hit an unoccupied truck.

The truck was left sometime on Monday disabled on the right shoulder of the road.

Both vehicles were severely damaged.

Gish was taken to a local hospital with non-incapacitating injuries.
