One Dead, One Injured In Deadly Shooting

One man is dead and another is wounded after a double shooting in Carlisle County Friday afternoon.
Kentucky State Troopers say Martha Ligon was driving with her husband Ray Ligon, both of Bardwell, KY, when Martha started following what is believed to be a random car.
Troopers say they followed that car to its home in Milburn, KY and Martha Ligon got out of her car and started shooting at several random people.
No one was injured during this shooting. Martha Ligon returned to her car and fled down Highway 307 North.

This is when troopers say Martha turned the gun on her husband Ray Ligon and shot him in the neck.

Troopers say Martha then stopped her car on Highway 307 North.
They say Shane Courtney drove up behind the couple as they were stopped in the roadway thinking they needed help.
They say Martha got out of her car then shot Courtney in the right shoulder.

KSP troopers arrived on the scene and arrested Martha Ligon and charges are currently pending.
Ray Ligon was airlifted to a hospital in Evansville where he later died of his injuries.
Shane Courtney was taken to Nashville with non-life threatening injuries.
