Road closure announced in Cape Girardeau

A city spokeswoman in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, advises that Hawthorn Road will be closed for multiple days, beginning Wednesday morning.

Spokeswoman Jessica Sexton says the closure will be in place so sanitary sewer work can be performed for a new development starting the morning of July 6. The work zone is just south of Hopper Road, and the work is expected to go on for the rest of the week.

Sexton says detours will be in place, and drivers are asked to be cautious in that area.

If you have questions about the project, you can call Cape Girardeau Development Services at 573-339-6327.
