Third person arrested in death of Larry Weaver

A third person is charged with murder in Sikeston, Missouri, police announced Wednesday.

The Sikeston Department of Public Safety said Wednesday Larenzel Coleman of Oakfield, Tennessee — along with Ronnie Robinson and Elsie Coleman Hamilton of Little Rock, Arkansas — is charged with first degree murder, first degree robbery, kidnapping and first degree tampering.

Hamilton and Robinson were arrested Saturday, and Coleman was arrested Wednesday.

The charges stem from the disappearance of Lawrence "Larry" Weaver of Pittsburg, Kansas. Weaver was reported missing in Sikeston last week, and his body was found on Saturday. The death was classified as a homicide after an autopsy performed on Tuesday. Police said Dr. Russell Deidiker, who performed the autopsy, noted that Weaver’s body had significant trauma to the head and several fractured ribs and other injuries consistent with a severe beating.

Weaver was reported missing when we failed to check out of a Sikeston hotel. Police say his motorcycle was missing, but many of his belonging were still in the hotel room.

Police said witnesses reported Coleman tried to sell a motorcycle to people in Howardville, Missouri. Officers say a vehicle registered to Hamilton matches a vehicle shown on hotel surveillance.
